Ellum Biavl was founded in 1999. In the beginning, it was a hobby with only a few beehives for honey production and enjoyment.

But as the craft became more experienced, the number of bee colonies grew so large that a choice had to be made between beekeeping as a profession and regular work.

Over time, a queen breeding programme has been established to ensure quality and, not least, a colony that could supply honey.

Over time, there has also been a development of honey machines and equipment for beekeeping. This has been necessary in order to optimise and facilitate the work with the bees and honey.

At Ellum Beekeeping, we concentrate mainly on four things:

• Selling South Jutland honey
• Breeding of buckfast queens,
• Production and sale of bee colonies,
• Development of modern beekeeping equipment. You can read more
